CAU : Argentinian Comfort Food

Updated: Dec 16, 2019

Winter is well and truly here, the gloves are on and that icey chill is in the air. I often find myself seeking out places to eat that offer that homecooked food vibe and I was not dissapointed stepping into the St Katherine's Dock branch of CAU. Being the sister restaurant of Gauchos, I did have high hopes for the Argentinian Steak spot which featured grassy outdoor motifs throughout. The food is a delight, you can tell ingredients are well thought out and the menu is meticulously put together. I chose one of their Big Plates, the Sausage & Bean Cassoulet. This dish is described as a 'Hearty pot of Cumberland, Merguez & Spanish chorizo sausage with braised beans. Topped with chilli & herb breadcrumbs.' It was the perfect winter warmer, full of flavour, generously portioned and something I will definitly be trying to emulate at home. The drinks menu is also expansive and I am particularly fond of the Peach Bellini which went down an absolute treat. The restaurant has branches in Amsterdam, London, Manchester, Reading and more. Visit the site to find your nearest CAU.
