3D Printed Eyewear by Kite

My personal struggle with glasses is a treacherous and miserable tale, one of hours spent in the opticians forcing frame clearly not right for my face to fit and sit. The shame and humiliation associated with having to wear a pair I know damn well, just does not suit me. Alas, Kite must've heard my cries and have come to the rescue with hat is easily the best idea ever (no hyperbole intended).

3D printed glasses designed and fit to your exact, personal, actual, face! We know that personalisation is the next major trend set to disrupt everything we thought we knew about business and commerce and what Kite is doing is literally a remarkable use case for how this trend will show up more and more in day to day shopping experiences.

The London-based eyewear brand has teamed up with Benjamin Hubert's design agency Layer to launch their £d printing service. Using 3D scanning technology, the customers face is scanned and then used to produce frames that fit perfectly😍. KiteONE is the name of the range of modular, 3D-printed glasses that come in many variations suitable for a vast range of individuals. This is apparently a first for the eyewear sector, "KiteONE is the most tailored eyewear available, offering you both a high degree of comfort and aesthetic options. Wrapped in a highly intuitive service, it also has the potential to be super accessible and aims to bring more people into the creative process." Benjamin Hubert of Layer via Dezeen.
