Alchemy: Jackalope Interiors by Carr Design

Revered through the centuries and hailed as the forerunner to modern day chemistry, Alchemy is the long standing practice of transmuting matter. This trend references the ancient art in the form of chemical, laboratory influenced design. In this particular instance the Jackalope Hotel features moody interiors designed by Carr agency. What captures my interest is the alchemy theme present throughout. The Hotel is located in Australia's wine district, a specific area known for it's Pinot Noir. The history of the area seems to have influenced the alchemist approach combining rich dark woods with lab style glass bottles, gold polished finishes and veiny white marble.

"Interiors celebrate the mystery and whimsy of alchemy and the art of transformation with tonal elements of gold, silver, copper and bronze throughout," said the director of interiors, Dan Cox.
