Plantation by Alicia Patanowska

Plantation is the thoughtful design from Alicia Patanowska. The concept behind Plantation is a very clear demonstration of the Naturalism trend featured in our Future Planet Issue. This trend sees us moving back towards the beauty and comfort of nature and Plantation emphasises our desire to bring natural elements into our homes and recreate the peace of a natural environment in very unnatural settings. Alicia explained that most citydwellers live in small apartments and do not have the luxury of the garden or much green outdoor space and so Plantation is the solution to our concrete problems.

"PLANTATION is a series of porcelain elements designed for growing herbs and ornamental plants using the principles of hydroponics. Thanks to the use of only water and no soil, this method allows observing the growing process of both the stems and the roots of plants. PLANTATION is also a perfect solution for rooting plant grafts."
