The New Desktop ready GIF app

Finding the perfect GIF just got easier.

PopKey, the creators of GIF keyboard, released Send GIFs on Wednesday, a new desktop app for Mac and Windows that allows you to browse and share animated GIFs without opening a browser.

On Macs, the app lives in the menu bar; the Windows version is accessible from the system tray.

Though Send GIFs uses the same GIF library as PopKey's iOS keyboard app, the desktop experience is actually simpler than its mobile counterpart. The app divides GIFs into two sections: Trending, which is based on what's popular among the app's users and elsewhere online; and Featured, which showcases themed collections and GIFs from the company's brand partners like Red Bull, Funny or Die, USA Network and Starbucks (see the frappuccino one, below). Those partners create custom GIFs for PopKey. You can also search for a GIF, if there's a specific type you have in mind.
