Deterioration

Deterioration as a theme and trend can be found rooted in Postmodernism. The concept is founded upon the active celebration of that which has gone through deterioration and goes hand in hand with re-purposing. The need to take that which has deteriorated and give it new meaning and creative value.

This has become an active practice within creative communities and is also often accompanied by cross medium creations where art that previously existed in one form perhaps photography is then transformed into another such as digital print.
