Named after the renown covered market in Tel Aviv, Sarona is Clerkenwell's Middle Eastern street food hub. The restaurant and bar cover two floors and serves coffee, lunch and dinner with a function space and additional bar upstairs. Talented chefs use seasonal ingredients to deliver a menu designed for sharing.
Carefully curated plates mean that any of the dishes can be selected at random and will still work together. Authentic flavours result in a remarkable experience, unlike anything you'll find in the Clerkenwell and City area. Sarona lovingly prepares and serves the kind of food that simply makes you smile.

The menu is made up of small dishes and larger plates, friendly staff help us to decide on three of the small plates and two of the large ones to be shared between two. The first thing I notice when the food arrives is how amazing everything smells, fresh herbs and high-quality ingredients are evident in every dish. Classics such as lamb kofte kebabs and feta salad are fresh and flavourful, done to an incredibly high standard.
Powerful yet comforting flavours such as harissa, sesame and pistachios appear in unexpected places, engaging every part of the palette. The Chermoula Marinated Bavette Steak and Yellowfin Tuna steak make up the two large dishes. Both accompanied by seasoned greens and salads. Distinguished flavours come through in the marinated 45-day aged Bavette and expertly seared tuna. For drinks, the Turkish coffee espresso martini combines an array of sumptuous flavours including vanilla and cardamon - An exceptional take on this cocktail classic, silky, fluffy, smooth perfection. Dessert came in the form of a scrumptious gluten-free dark chocolate brownie peppered with soft pistachios. Served with halva ice cream. After just one visit, the newly opened eatery is an instant hit and a new favourite. saronalondon.com
