'Soul Scene' by Gucci

We've got all the time in the world for this festival of lively colour, print and unabashed representation. The campaign references the incredibly expressive work of Malian photographer Malick Sidibe who was known for documenting the local youth culture back in the sixties.

Shot right here in London by Glen Luchford, the images feature an all black line up caught in the middle of a riotous night of glamorous hijinks. Decked head to toe in Gucci, the models appear in a range of energetic dance stills and action poses. Every scene feels like a snapshot from a party you've always wanted to attend. This campaign solidifies Gucci as a contemporary Fashion leader as opposed to a classic and dated Fashion house. It also turns the traditional luxury concept on it's head and demonstrates that Luxury Fashion can exist and indeed inspire in a variety of cultural settings.

“Soul Scene” is “an exploration of the flamboyance and self-expression of men and women who challenge the conventions of society through performance, art and dance.” - Gucci
