A Moodboard Moment: Eygló

NJAL is now an official Nominating Body for the International Woolmark Prize (IWP), and it's time to highlight some of the new territories that fashion’s biggest accolade is now open to. Iceland steals the spotlight, and Reykjavík’s own Eygló charts the winding process of creativity. Eygló is a loud voice on Iceland’s fashion scene, partly because of her off-hand graphic treatment and the fact she is one of Icelandic fashion's earliest pioneers, so naturally, she has plenty to say. In NJAL’s latest Moodboard Moment, the Icelandic impresario visually chronicles her latest collection, and provides an intimate lens on her playful prints, her knack for aestheticising humour and the delicacy of details. After graduating from the Iceland Academy of Arts and interning with Bernhard Willhelm, AsFour and Jeremy Scott, she joined another nine designers to launch Kiosk–a concept store in Iceland and launched her own label. Eygló continuously works to rediscover the wheel in pattern cutting, as well as, in detailing. It's this deft dedication which imbues her collections with a futuristic fibre.
