They call the bags they make neccessaires, from the French for necessary, and market their products as “trendy pouches for consumers with a busy life style”. The five women who formed the brand, which launched in May of this year, are passionate about sustainability and the future of the fashion industry, believing that it is necessary to bring awareness to the public about waste and the environmental cost of fashion. Vanessa Dafiaghor Managing Director and Veronica Pravato Company Secretary & Designer hand select all of their materials, donated by friends and family, and no two bags are the same. Revive aims to embrace sustainability as a business strategy, not simply as marketing.

The brand began in April 2015 when one of the founders “realised how many unused clothes she had in her wardrobe and shared with the rest of the group the concept of using second-hand clothing to produce a fashionable product.” They knew they wanted to tap in the accessories market since it has a huge growth potential and it still is a relatively unexplored territory from eco-friendly and affordable standpoint. The name Revive came from the concept of up-cycling; they aim to give a second life to clothing and transform it into a new shape and give it a new life outside of landfills. The unique pouches they sell currently come in two different sizes, mini or maxi, and are sold in a variety of different colors and fabrics. Since the pouches are made of different, pre-loved fabrics and in small batches, the team cannot guarantee that the small and large sizes will be exactly measured the same every time. However, they will always be a unique and inexpensive option for fantastic up-cycled bags. Customers love the bags for their functionality as places to keep all the items that would normally be rolling around in the bottom of their tote bags, professional styling, and tags (which they’ve been keeping attached to the bags). At the moment they are sold out, but don’t worry, new products will be for sale on their website, reviveaccessories.co.uk, soon. The team is currently in development stages for their next collection and will be expanding their product line, as well as their process for donating fabric (fans might be able to donate fabric for custom bags) in the future. I for one cannot wait to get my hands on one of these adorable pouches!
